1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files stored in your browser by the site you visit (first-party cookies) or by a third-party provider (third-party cookies). Similar technologies (localStorage, tags, pixels, identifiers in the URL) are treated the same way in this policy.
2. Legal basis
- Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent (art. 4(6) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004, transposing art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, the "ePrivacy Directive").
- Analytics and marketing cookies are set only with your prior consent (art. 4(5) of Law no. 506/2004; art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Refusing does not limit your access to the site in any way.
- You can withdraw your consent at any time (art. 7(3) GDPR), as easily as you gave it (see section 5). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before.
- The cookieless statistics tool (section 4) runs on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It stores nothing on your device, but its script reads basic browser information (type, language, screen size) to produce the statistics.

Third-party content
The site loads no embedded third-party content (maps, video, fonts). The map in the site footer is a static image hosted on our own server; it contacts no external provider and sets no cookies. The "Open in Google Maps" link takes you to Google's site only if you click it.
4. Cookieless statistics
Basic traffic statistics are collected with a cookieless analytics tool, hosted in the EU (Germany) and administered by our IT service provider (our processor, art. 28 GDPR). It stores nothing on your device and does not track you across other sites. It receives the page visited, the referrer, utm_* campaign parameters (ad click identifiers are removed from the address first) and basic browser information. Your IP address is used only to derive an approximate country and a daily-changing visitor count, and is not stored. Statistics are kept for 24 months.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful and whether the site works (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We weighed it against your interests: the data is pseudonymous and minimal, stays on our infrastructure in the EU, and is not used for advertising or profiling. You can object at any time by writing to contact@muncitoresti.ro.
5. Managing your choice
- On your first visit, a prompt lets you accept all categories, keep only the necessary cookies, or pick categories individually under "Preferences". Until you make a choice, access to the site is blocked by this prompt (on the legal pages themselves, it is shown as a non-blocking banner so the policy text stays readable).
- At any later time, click "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page to change or withdraw your choice. On withdrawal, the analytics and marketing cookies set by us and by the tags loaded through Google Tag Manager are deleted, and those tools are no longer loaded (the page may reload to apply your choice).
- Your choice is remembered for 6 months; after that, or after a substantive change to this policy (which involves a new version of the consent mechanism), the prompt will ask again.
- To be able to demonstrate consent (art. 7(1) GDPR), we keep a server-side record of each choice: the random identifier, the categories chosen, how you chose (accept all, essential only or custom settings), the policy version, the date and the language. We do not keep your IP address or other device data. The record is stored on our hosting provider's servers in the EU (Germany), administered by our IT service provider, for 3 years, then deleted automatically. The legal basis is our legal obligation to demonstrate consent (art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). The identifier is shown under "Cookie settings"; quote it if you ask us for access to the record or its deletion.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Clearing the site's data makes the prompt reappear.
- Additional opt-outs offered by the providers: Google Analytics opt-out, Google Ads settings, Meta ad preferences.
6. Transfers outside the EEA
Google and Meta also process the data from their cookies in the United States. Transfers rely on the adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (subject to Google LLC's and Meta Platforms, Inc.'s current certification) and, in addition, on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. Provider policies: Google · Meta.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority (ANSPDCP), B-dul G-ral. Gheorghe Magheru nr. 28-30, Sector 1, Bucharest, www.dataprotection.ro. Details and how to exercise them in the Privacy Policy.
